Two Rodby Treadmills at Lower Silesian Sports Center in Poland

The Lower Silesian Sports Center is one of the largest and most modern cross-country skiing and biathlon centers in Europe. The treadmills from Rodby are a large rollerski skate treadmill RL4500Ex3000 for training with rollerskis both in freestyle skate and classic style. And a rollerski treadmill RL2700E x 1000 for training in classic style. The large rollerski skate treadmill RL4500E is installed in an installation pit so that the treadmill’s belt is only about 15 cm above floor level.

The Lower Silesian Sports Center is a sports center located in Jakuszyce at the junction of the Polish, Czech and German borders. It is said to be the largest and most modern cross-country skiing and biathlon center in Europe. The facility meets the requirements of world federations and has the necessary infrastructure for training in both summer and winter. The sports infrastructure is designed for top-level athletes and amateurs. In the close vicinity of the Center there are nearly 90 kilometers of cross-country skiing and biking trails of varying levels of difficulty, as well as a biathlon shooting range.

The Sports Center resort is located at an altitude of 800m above sea level, and the resort has rooms to live in, as well as a gym and a workout room where normobaric hypoxia conditions can be achieved. To speed up post-workout recovery, there is a hyperoxia room with increased oxygen content, as well as a swimming pool, saunas and a thermal saline graduation tower (a form of spa treatment common in Poland, Germany and Austria).

Since 1976, the Jakuszycka Glade has been the site of the annual Bieg Piastów race. This is a cross-country skiing competition of international rank, listed in the Worldloppet Ski Federation. Since 2014, the competition program has been expanded to include additional competitions, and currently includes: a 50km classic style run, a 25km classic style run, a 30 km freestyle run, additional classic style runs at distances of 7km and 12km, and a children’s run. Justyna Kowalczyk has repeatedly competed in the event, each time taking the top spot on the podium.
